Mineral Fillers

Mineral fillers are defined as powdered substances that are practically insoluble in the environment in which they are applied and used to increase volume, obtain or increase some technical properties, and/or change optical properties.

Fillers are essentially natural minerals.

Industrial minerals used for filling purposes, in addition to being cheap, provide significant contributions to the quality and performance of the paint with their physical and physico-chemical properties. Calcites (Calcium carbonates), coated calcites, kaolin, barite, aluminum silicate (opticil) and talc are the main filling materials.
