Cellulose Ether

HPMC (Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose) is one of the most important additives that is in powder form and used in gypsum and cement-based mortars, wall putty, burnishing plaster applications, tile adhesive mortars, EIFS, ETICS applications.  Thanks to its water retention feature in mortars, it increases open time and workability, It creates a thickening effect and slip resistance and can solve in cold water.

The most important feature of this chemical is that it retains water.

It has different types in the market such as HPMC and MHEC, including pure and modified types. It traps a certain amount of water for a certain period of time, thus allowing the working time of the mortar to be adjusted. They facilitate the carding process by improving the consistency of the mortar, and if we consider the different viscosity values due to the modification from its production according to the needs, they also increase the slip resistance of the mortar. According to the characteristics of the product to be produced, viscosity values are also very important, especially in plaster and joint filling application low viscosity products should be prefer.

HPMC KS 50MX

is a modified cellulose ether with a viscosity of 25,000-35,000 mPa.s according to the Brookfield scale, especially used in plaster applications due to its low viscosity.

HPMC KS 715 M

is a modified cellulose ether with a viscosity of 50,000-65,000 mPa.s according to the Brookfield scale, especially preferred in cement-based applications, providing excellent open time and increasing workability.

HPMC KS 7015

is a pure cellulose ether with a viscosity of 50,000-65,000 mPa.s according to the Brookfield scale, especially used in cement-based applications, providing excellent open time and high workability.

HPMC MH 150 K

is a cellulose ether with a viscosity of 55,000-65,000 mPa.s according to the Brookfield scale, with high workability and sag resistance, especially preferred in cement-based applications.

HPMC OC 1808

is an economical grade cellulose ether with a viscosity of 65,000 - 80,000 mPa.s according to the Brookfield scale, with good sag resistance, excellent water retention and high adhesion resistance, especially preferred in cement-based applications.
